August 2018 Writing Prompt

Beginnings are often disguised as endings. Have you noticed that?

A graduation from a school program is the beginning of a new career. A move from one state becomes a new life in another. The dissolution of a relationship may be the beginning of a new, better one with yourself or someone else.

Sometimes the lines between endings and beginnings aren’t that clear or dramatic. Sometimes the beginnings are only noticed years later with hindsight.

For this month’s writing prompt, I want to hear your stories about endings and beginnings in your life. What was something you viewed as an ending at the time that ultimately turned into a beginning? Comment below, so we can all read and appreciate your stories. Happy writing!

Is there a number of words that are required or a limit of words?
Is there a rules page that I should read?
Will there be a “grade” or correction suggestions?
And what is the dead line?

There are absolutely no rules, grades, or deadlines. The monthly prompts are provided just to get you thinking and writing. Prompts are meant to be memory-joggers and tinder for your creative fire. If you’d like to share your prompt responses with the Writing Your Life community here in the comments section, we would love to read them. If not, that’s fine, too. Enjoy!
