Maitland Public Library patrons and I had a great time at my workshop, Let’s Write Your Memories, on June 15. Participants learned how to get started writing their memories and had the opportunity to draft recollections using timed writing prompts. It’s always amazing how many memories the prompts trigger, and workshop members left our time together with the beginnings of several new stories.
Writing Your Life hosted our first live webinar, The Art of Editing, on June 8. With more than forty lively participants, we considered it a great success and a good learning experience for all. If you missed the webinar, watch the replay here [LINK].
On June 22, we charted more new territory by holding the live, interactive, online workshop Edit Like an Expert. The workshop was like an in-person event but without any geographic constraints. As many of our clients are not in the Orlando area or are unable to attend an in-person class, the online format facilitated participation. Feedback from the Edit Like an Expert group was so positive that we’re going to do it again! Writing Your Life is already planning online workshops for later this year that we can’t wait to share with you.

Save the Date - Write Your Life Author Showcase
Save the date! Join us for our first-ever Writing Your Life Author Showcase on November 9, 2019, at 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.in Orlando, Florida, near College Park.
A number of Writing Your Life published authors will be featured at this event to showcase their books and read short excerpts. Following is a panel discussion where aspiring authors can ask questions about these authors’ writing and publishing experiences and what has happened since their book came out.
This event will also allow many longtime Writing Your Life class members to reunite and the opportunity for you to meet and mingle with fellow authors and others who may need a word of encouragement.
Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. We hope to see you there!
