Show, Tell, Write

Show, Tell, and Write LogoShow, Tell, Write has been such a joy! Have you participated yet, Central Floridians? You have those calendars nearby, right? Go ahead and add Show, Tell, Write, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Infusion Tea to the September 20th box so you don’t miss the next one.

So much of our lives can be told through our possessions. August’s Show, Tell, Write sponsored jointly by Writing Your Life, Bookmark It bookstore, and Infusion Tea, proved that yet again.

We were introduced to objects that spoke to and represented entire years, even decades, of people’s lives–from journals to jewelry, figurines to Fabio.

We heard about a squirrel named Squeaky, the gift of two gratitude journals, a locket from the 1800s, a guide to the world’s great aphorists, a long-term love of everything Disney, and many more.

Then, Patricia gave a mini-lesson on seeing. The group learned that seeing takes time and reflected on how seldom people slow down to see the world. Participants took a few minutes to really look at their treasured possessions and saw some things for the very first time. Afterward, everyone wrote about what they noticed, and some shared touching stories with the group.
