Peggy Best shares what inspired her to write about her experience in a military family in her memoir Dandelion Child.
In the writing process she found much encouragement: “Writers are special. They help each other. It’s not like, ‘I’m a famous writer. I’m not going to tell anybody anything.’ It’s, ‘I’m a writer; I want you to be too.’”
