Buona mattina dall’Italia! Bob and I are still in Northern Italy having an amazing time. I’ve been collecting such great stories from people who live all over the world, and I’ve enjoyed yummy seafood risotto just about every night.
That alone would be enough for a great trip, but we’ve also seen some of the most amazing sights. In the last week, we’ve stood below the balcony in Verona where Shakespeare had Romeo express his love for fair Juliet; learned about and saw a 5,300-year-old mummy, Otzi or Frozen Fritz, as the locals call him, who was found in a glacier in the 1990s; had a snowball fight on top of the highest peak in Cortina d’Ampezzo; been serenaded as we glided through the canals of Venice in a gondola; and that’s just for starters.
I’d love to give you all the details of our adventures, but it’s nearing midnight in the Italian lake region, and tomorrow is another big day. So, for now, I’ll share a few photos and say scrittura felice! That means happy writing, I think. Ciao-ciao.
