Writing Sprints

Brain with Sprint WordsEvery now and then, I like to do something I call writing sprints. I give you a word, and you have just two minutes to write whatever comes to mind. There’s not much time to think, so you just have to jump in and write the first thing you think about. The New Year often comes with resolutions to exercise more, so here’s your chance to stretch and exercise just a bit, writing style.

Read the first word, set your timer and write for two minutes, then go to the next word for two minutes, and so on until you’ve written responses to all the words. Don’t cheat.  After you’re finished with the five words, you can go back and elaborate, if you’d like. Ready? Set your timer for two minutes. Here are the words for today’s writing sprints:

Mushrooms

A broken bottle

Dreaming

Hands

Math
