Do you have a bucket list? If you aren’t familiar with the term, a bucket list is a list of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.
I recently checked a box on my bucket list that was so exciting for me, I just had to share it with you. It may sound funny, but hugging a sloth has been on my bucket list for years, and I finally checked it off my list at Wild Florida with Bob and my fellow sloth-lover and friend, Misty Rogers.
The sloth’s name was Aerie. She was twenty years old and a messy eater who quickly had corn all over us both.
I thought sloths would be soft, but she wasn’t soft at all. Sloths have no fat and Aerie was just muscle and bones. I could feel her ribs when holding her. As soon as she finished eating, she climbed up onto my shoulders and then went to the top of the enclosure to hang and take a nap. I hope to see many more sloths in Costa Rica in December.
And in case you didn’t know, October 20 is International Sloth Day where you can celebrate by learning more about these interesting creatures or acting like a sloth and just hanging out. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
Holding a sloth was just one of many experiences and achievements on my bucket list.
Today, I’d like you to write about your bucket list. Do you have one? What experiences or achievements are on yours? Have you crossed anything off your bucket list? Is there one or two you can describe in detail? Tell us about your bucket list items, either waiting to be accomplished or already checked off the list
I would love for you to share your writing in the comments section below.
