Recently, a woman who had been in my classes a few years back found her way to me through a friend of hers who had a friend who had published a book through me. Her first comment to me was, “I didn’t know you published books.”
“Really?” I answered. “I thought everyone knew that.” Apparently not.
I do own a small publishing company called LifeStory Publishing, and I work with a team of editors, proofreaders, designers, printers, and others to help create one-of-a-kind books for authors of all genres. We produce books in a wide variety of sizes in hardback and paperback with both color and black and white interior pages. Color used to be so expensive, but now it’s only a dollar or so more per book. We offer optional services, including assignment of an ISBN number, copyright registration, Library of Congress control numbers, e-book conversions, and other services.
LifeStory Publishing is a full service publisher that frees the author from having to navigate the treacherous waters of self-publishing, which can be costly in time, money, and quality. Each author retains all rights to his/her book and keeps all proceeds from sales. He/she doesn’t earn only a $1.50 royalty off a $20 book as he/she would with a traditional publisher.
If you have a book you’d like to publish and want to discuss how LifeStory Publishing can bring your masterpiece to life in print, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll set up a time to talk.
