Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way. Brenda Krygowski is proof of that adage.

I first met Brenda last year at a Florida Writers Association mini-conference in Tampa. We talked after the workshop, and she told me how much she wanted to improve her writing skills. That day, she purchased two of my Edit Like an Expert programs, and she’s been riding high ever since.

This fall, Brenda dove into the remaining seven programs in the See It Through! series.

Her commitment to her novel and becoming an even better writer is inspiring, and with a demanding career and young children, I asked how she managed to watch the many videos in the series. “It’s easy,” she said. “I watch them on my iPad while I ride my bike.”

I couldn’t envision the skill necessary to ride a bike, watch hours of video instruction, and not get killed at the same time. I could better understand it if the programs were audio, but they aren’t.

Brenda finally explained that she rigged a little platform to hold her tablet on which she watches my instruction while she rides a stationary bike in her garage. Okay, now I get it.

Well done, Brenda. Congratulations on finding a way to make your writing a priority and get in a bit of exercise at the same time. Write and ride on.
