Last month, we lost an American hero, astronaut Neil Armstrong, commander of Apollo 11, the first man to set foot on the moon, the one who mouthed those iconic words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
What do you remember or have been told about this memorable time on July 20, 1969 when the world watched as Armstrong commandeered the lunar module down to the surface of the moon and left footprints where no man had walked before? Where were you when this event took place? What stories do you have about the man or the mission?
Set the timer for ten minutes and write about Neil Armstrong, the moon landing, or any related memory, and then share what you’ve written. Godspeed!
